Jannette's Story: Choosing Parents Came So Easy

My name is Jannette, and I was twenty-four when I became pregnant. The birthfather and I had broken up. For a long time I was in denial that I was pregnant. Oh no, this can't be happening to me. I was six months along when a worker at a clinic gave me some pamphlets and suggested I look into open adoption. Being a single parent just wasn't an option.

I called the agency and the main office was 20 miles away. My sister was very supportive and went with me. I knew from the very beginning this was my best choice. I couldn't have a child and say goodbye forever.
